Milling tools are a rotary cutter with one or more teeth for milling. When working, the cutter teeth successively and intermittently cut the allowance of the workpiece. Milling tools are mainly used in milling machine processing plane, steps, grooves, forming surface and cutting workpiece. Divided into cylindrical milling cutter, square end mill cutter, end milling cutter, saw blade milling cutter, CNC milling cutter, etc.

What is the difference between end milling cutter and square end mill cutter?
What is the difference between end milling cutter and square end mill cutter that we often say?
There are cutting cutters on the cylindrical surface and end face of end milling cutter, they can be cut at the same time, or can be cut separately. It is mainly used for plane milling, groove milling, step milling and profile milling. The square end mill cutter is a milling cutter processed by the top surface, is disc type, can only be used for cutting end edge.
Classification of carbide milling cutters
The above milling cutter we said end milling cutter, square end mill cutter, then carbide milling cutter classification? The answer is yes.
There are many kinds of carbide milling cutters, including carbide end mill, carbide ball nose, carbide straight shank slot milling cutter, carbide saw blade milling cutter, etc. Carbide ball nose, which can be used for a wide variety of materials, such as stainless steel for valve, automotive, food and beverage, oil and gas industry applications. That we can literally understand, made of carbide end mill we called carbide end mill. Cemented carbide is metal carbide, tungsten carbide, titanium carbide and cobalt - based metal binder by powder metallurgy process.
Three kinds of materials of cemented carbide
The cemented carbide commonly used in BMR TOOLS can be divided into three categories:
1. Tungsten cobalt cemented carbides (YG)
Commonly used brands YG3, YG6, YG8, in which the number represents the percentage of cobalt content, the more cobalt content, the better toughness, the more impact and vibration resistance, but will reduce the hardness and wear resistance. Therefore, the alloy is suitable for cutting cast iron and non-ferrous metals, and can also be used for cutting heavy impact blank and hardened steel and stainless steel parts.
2.Titanium cobalt cemented carbide (YT)
Commonly used grades are YT5, YT15, YT30, the number represents the percentage of titanium carbide. Carbide containing titanium carbide, can improve the bond temperature of steel, reduce friction coefficient, and can make the hardness and wear resistance slightly increased, but reduce the bending strength and toughness, make the quality of brittle, therefore, this kind of alloy is suitable for cutting steel parts.
3. General cemented carbide
Add right amount in the above two kinds of cemented carbide of rare metal carbides, such as tantalum and niobium carbide, make its grain refining, improve its hardness under normal temperature and high temperature hardness, wear resistance, bonding temperature and oxidation resistance, can make the toughness of the alloy increased, therefore, this kind of cutter carbide has better comprehensive performance and generality, because its price is more expensive, It is mainly used for hard to process materials, such as high strength steel, heat resistant steel, stainless steel, etc.
So what are the advantages of BMR TOOLS use this material to product carbide end mill?
High temperature resistance is its biggest characteristic, it can still maintain good cutting performance in 800-10000C or so, cutting can choose 4-8 times higher than high speed steel cutting speed. High hardness and wear resistance at room temperature. Low bending strength, poor impact toughness, the blade is not easy to grind very sharp.
